3 Ideas for Making Father’s Day Extra Special

post featured image

Father’s Day is one of my favorite holidays of the year if I’m being honest. Don’t get me wrong, I love Mother’s Day and Christmas just as much as everyone else, but I love having the opportunity to just celebrate Michael and his relationship with our kids. It’s been so fun watching him develop special bonds with each of them and become such an amazing dad.

To make Father’s Day extra special this year, I’ve got a few ideas on how to make Michael feel a little bit spoiled (because shouldn’t every dad feel that way?!)! I hope it inspires you to plan something for the dad in your life, too!

Dress to the nines with the kids

In our house, dressing up is such a fun occasion. The kids love helping to pick out outfits and this year I went all in by getting Michael everything a stylish dad needs from Peter Millar. I picked up these pants, which are the perfect weight for early summer and come in a bunch of different colors. Next, I knew I had to get him this buttondown with embroidered lobsters. How fun is that?! The kids got a kick out of it and Michael loved it. I also got him this light sweater – perfect for layering on those cooler summer evenings (and even great for fall layers too)!

Plan one of dad’s favorite activities

Whether you want to go out to brunch or maybe even hit up a golf course, have the kids choose a fun activity to do with their dad. Make all the arrangements ahead of time so all you have to do the day of is show up and have fun! We decided to head to our country club for brunch and have the kids golf a couple of holes with Michael and then head to the pool for a relaxing rest of the day (well sort of;)I know it’s going to mean so much to Michael to have that special time with Sutton and Greyson.

Give the perfect gift

Michael’s head-to-toe Peter Millar look wouldn’t have been complete without a little bit of accessorizing. I decided to get him this watch, which I’ve been eyeing for him for months. It’s a more everyday style but can easily work for business casual looks as well. This makes it so he can get maximum use out of it. Plus, a good watch is a classic go-to Father’s Day gift. So, if the dad in your life doesn’t have a great watch, this Peter Millar option is a no brainer!

I hope you all have a fantastic Father’s Day with an extra special gift for dad in tow!
