BBL Q&A

post featured image

Answering some of questions you sent in from a while back while I was at Avé Med Spa regarding the BBL laser. As you may know my owns a medical laser spa where I receive treatments such as BBL, HALO, and Botox. I do the BBL 3 to 4 times a year on my face and sharing my experience along with information my mom has provided.

Q & A

Q: What is the pain level?

A: Pain level is low. But everyone pain tolerance is different.

Q: What is the difference between BBL & IPL?

A: Bbl and IPL are the same just branded different. Also there are different lasers that can do this procedure. I prefer the Sciton.

Q: What is the downtime for this laser?

A: Very little if any. I have no down time when I do this laser. You may have a little swelling the next day. It will not break the skin rather it will pull up your brown spots and they will shed usually 5-14 days depending upon how much damage you have.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Cost varies from office to office. 300-500

Q: Does it work on Melasma?

A: Melasma is tricky. I would not unless you have a very experienced provider.

Q: How is your face the day after?

A: Immediately following treatment, you can expect to see mild redness, and it may feel like a slight sunburn in the treated area. This should go away after a few hours but in some cases could last a day or two. You can start to see healthier looking skin just several days after treatment. Sun spots, age spots and or broken blood vessels, should begin to clear up in one to two weeks.

Q: How soon till you see results?

A: Results take 7-14 days. The more damage the more dramatic difference you will see.

Q: Do you put on numbing cream before?

A: Yes they numb the face for 15 minutes.

Q: Can any person with different skin tones get BBL?

A: Skin types 1-3

Q: Are you able to spray tan your face after this procedure?

A: I wouldn’t suggest doing it close to your procedure. I would once the redness is gone a day or two after.

Q: How often does your mom recommend getting the treatment done? / How many sessions are needed for results?

A: I recommend twice a year.

Q: Can you wear makeup the next day?

A: You can wear makeup the next day.

Q: What age do you recommend starting laser treatments?

A: My mom recommends starting in your late 20s. Although for acne you can start in your teens.

Let me know if you have any more questions!
