My Favorite Healthy KC Lunch Spots

post featured image

You guys are frequently asking me what I all eat day-to-day so I thought I would comply a list of my favorite healthy lunch spots here in Kansas City. These are places I frequent when I am out and about and looking for something fast and healthy.

I can’t say enough good things about all this places I am listing, they are definitely on this list for a reason. We are very fortunate to have so many great healthy option here in the Kansas City area.

Enjoy:: Pure Food + Drink

Enjoy is definitely a goto for a quick healthy meal. It is located right next to my workout classes in Mission Farms, so it is easy to stop in to grab a quick bit to eat or snag one of their juices in the mornings. My favorite juice is there is the Metabolizing Juice and my go to meal is either the Great Catch Bowl (pictured above) or Take on the World Bowl. They also have the best guacamole and I love how they pair it with not only chips but veggies as well.

This is also where I get my elderberry and the immunity shots that I have shown on my instagram stories.

The Mixx

The Mixx has the best salads. They have such a weird variety of options and ways to customize the perfect lunch or dinner. My go to salad is the Chisaya Mama and I like to add Salmon and I usually pair it with their soup of the day. In this picture we were eating the Chisaya Mama Salad, Minestrone soup, Insalata Brassica, and the Santa Fe Chicken Salad. The Mixx also has a great juice bar. I would recommend the Citrus Sunrise which is more fruity and then the Supreme Green for all the greens.

This is also a place we will take the kids when we are looking for a quick meal out. They have great kid options. We will order them the Mac and Cheese or the Crispy Chicken Tenders with sweet potatoes fries, that I love to steal 🙂

T.Loft

T.Loft has 3 locations in Kansas City. They not only have great food but have the cutest atmosphere. My favorite bowl is the Spicy Chicken. It has chicken, celery, avocado, carrots, quinoa, blue cheese, and buffalo sauce. What I love about T.Loft bowls is that they really fill you up and give you fuel for the day. I don’t follow a specific diet but I try to eat clean and give my body the nutrients it needs.

For their juices, it’s hard to pick a favorite but I would say the Alive & Alert or the Extreme C for more of the green juices. Or if you like fruit juices the Brain Berry or the Mean & Clean.

Unbakery & Juicery

Unbakery & Juicery is a place that is hard for me to tell you my personal favorites because I love going there and experimenting with new items. You really can’t go with any of their options. They have such a wide variety of juices and their meals are all super clean and delicious. I love their remade Tuna Poke Bowls (pictured above). The atmosphere is serious worth going for. It is also fun to just sit and enjoy one of their delicious espressos.

McLain’s Market

McLain’s is our go-to for sweet treats for the kid’s birthday. But they recently opened an Overland Park location that not only has the amazing bakery but also offers breakfast and lunch. And the best part is they have a drive thru which makes it super convenient to go a quick lunch. I’m obsessed with their avocado toast and pear salad.

Caffetteria

Caffetteria is fairly new to the Kansas City area and is a sister restaurant to The Mixx. They take a spin on the tradition meals and source all their ingredients locally. It not only is a great place for a fast casual meal but it is seriously beautiful inside. I feel like I have said that about all these restaurants but it is true again. I would recommend any of their salads and want to go back soon and try some of their bowls. Sutton of course loved the kids chicken bites and house fries, which again I couldn’t help myself and had to try them too!

True Food

True Food just opened up in Kansas City and I don’t think I am the only one to say we are so excited for the addition. It opened up on the Plaza where the old Plaza III was. They made it a beautiful space with such amazing food. Michael and I took the kids down and now I am ready for multiple trips to try so many more items on the menu. This time I got the Poke Bowl and Michael got the Grass-fed Steak Tacos. We started with the “For the Table” App. It was kale guacamole, herb hummus, black olive dip, heirloom carrot, cucumber & pita. The kids loved it as well!

Other quick options:

Zoe’s Kitchen- Cauliflower Rice Bowl and add Salmon

Chic-fil-a– Spicy Southwest Salad

Chipotle– Bowl with shredded lettuce, light black beans, sofritas or barbacoa pico, corn and guacamole – then I of course add salt.
