It used to be whenever I’d think of a bodysuit, I always thought summertime. My mind would go straight to cut off denim shorts and spaghetti straps. But as I was cruising South Moon Under a few weeks ago for fall staples, I saw this deep v bodysuit. I knew it would make for a cute night out look, so I decided to show how you could layer up a bodysuit as part of a date or girls’ night outfit for fall. I shopped the rest of my outfit from South Moon Under too because they have some of the best booties, denim and coats – how could I resist?
So, if you’re like me and thought bodysuits were only for summertime, here’s how I styled one for slightly cooler temps.
No-hole jeans
Because of the plunging neckline on the bodysuit, I decided to go for a no-hole jean. It dresses the outfit up a bit more and keeps me warmer than my usual distressed pair. Plus, Joe’s Jeans from South Moon Under are my absolute favorite jeans! They’re really comfortable and I have found the quality to be unmatched. They are definitely an investment, but if you’re in the market for a go-to pair of denim that will last forever, these are it!
Warm layers
The temperatures this time of year in Kansas City are chilly, so layers are a necessity. The bodysuit itself has long sleeves, which helps, but I needed another cozy layer on top. What’s warmer than a sherpa jacket? Nothing! I love the neutral color and the length helps keep me extra warm! It’s gotta be one of my favorite jacket in awhile – I just love the details and how unique it feels.
Boots
This one probably sounds obvious, but you want to keep those toes nice and toasty! I love a good OTK boot for a night out, but because the bodysuit already gives a sexy vibe, a classic Steve Madden bootie balances it out perfectly. This perforated pair might seem basic, but the three and a half inch heels give you that extra something your outfit needs without being over the top.
How would you style a bodysuit for a fall night out?
