3 Tips for Staying Fit Through the Holidays

post featured image

One of the questions I’ve been getting asked a lot lately is about how I stay fit during the holidays. It can definitely be tricky this time of year and I’ve had to learn the best way to approach it over the years. Honestly one of my biggest tips would be to just not overthink it and to let yourself relax a bit during the holidays. However, I do have a few tips that I think will help!

Find balance

No one wants to go through the holidays feeling like they can’t eat any of the yummy holiday treats or hearty family meals, so instead of focusing on avoiding, try to find a balance. I try to remember to think about portion control – this allows me to eat what I want without feeling guilty. If there’s time, you can also sneak in a workout but don’t sacrifice time celebrating with the family for it. Remember, it’s OK to take a week off every once in a while!

Try something new

This is where my outfit comes in. We all know lululemon has some of the chicest activewear out there. Well, their coated leggings are definitely my new favorites! I’ve been wearing them non-stop lately because they look like real pants! Ha! Paired with this boyfriend tee and this super cozy teddy coat, which is reversible and has a drawstring so you can cinch it to have a shorter look, you have one chic athleisure look! And what’s more motivating to move your body than really cute workout clothes from lululemon?!

Incorporate the family

For us, the holidays are all about spending extra time with the family. So instead of stepping away for an hour or so to hit up the gym, I try to think of things we can do as a family that encourages us to make healthy choices. I usually think of things like going for a walk as a family or having a snowball fight in the backyard or a nearby park – snowball fights are great for cardio – trust me! Or even getting in the kitchen and making something nutritious together. There are lots of ways to stay on track with your health goals through the holiday that can also include your family!

And if you’re still doing some last-minute shopping, I can’t recommend lululemon enough! Their products are high quality and anyone on your list will love whatever you pick out for them! For the guy in your life, definitely check out this gift guide that Michael helped me put together featuring all his fave lululemon buys!
