Sutton’s 5th Birthday Party

post featured image

This little lady has been counting down the days for months for this big day.  When her birthday finally arrived, she grinned from the moment she woke up until the end of the day.  She completely enjoyed all of the attention.  All.  Day.  Long. So excited to be sharing pictures from her party and a special little letter for her to look back on when she’s older…

A big HUGE thanks to the talented Morgan & Claire from Pink Antlers Studio. They did such a WONDERFUL job helping style and plan Sutton’s butterfly party. The theme all started with Sutton’s love for butterflies! She was in complete heaven with all the butterfly details.

Dear Sutton,

The day finally arrived! You are 5! You have begged the past 6 months to be 5 and now you are! It seems so big! Turning 5 means the end of preschool days. You are starting to feel less like my baby and more like my girl. You put on your own clothes. You clear your own plate. You get your own drink from the fridge. Five means you’re still a child, but yet you’re so independent.

Sutton, you have grown so much and made me so proud, and YOU have made me grow too! I want to make you proud and being the best mom I can be for you. Days when I feel defeated and overwhelmed with life, you are here, a sturdy and resilient little spunky trooper reminding me that there are so many beautiful small things in life that truly are big things. You remind me to stop and smell the roses (and look for bugs). You remind me to be still in what is and to stop for a few minutes worrying about what is not. I have cherished the opportunity to be your mom.

You are 5 and you are brave, independent, stubborn, strong-willed, loving, selective, warm, bossy, difficult, easy, cuddly, and tough all in one. You are like me and like your dad, but you are not like me and you are not like your dad. You are perfectly you.

Your 5 year old world is going to be wonderful and sometimes not so wonderful. This is a big year for you. Remember life isn’t perfect, embrace YOU, embrace your inner voice and share your love with and for others because it’s truly magic!

I love you.

Happy birthday,

Your proud mother

Sutton and all of her guests had so much fun! Each guest had the option to pick any color of tutu to wear along with fairy butterfly wings! Sutton loved helping her friends help pick out and color and put on her wings!

Once all the guests arrived and put on their tutu dresses and wings – they play Fairy freeze dance and musical chairs.

Then the face painter arrived and each guest got to get their face painted. We also did butterfly tatoos that matched the plates – they were so pretty!

After dancing and playing dress-up we all sat down and sang happy birthday! Then it was time for some yummy chocolate cake and sweet treats!

We had such an amazing time and Sutton felt so special. Thanks to all her wonderful friends and our family that came to her party and helped make her day so special!

Becky xx
