A Guide to the Perfect Denim Shorts

Shorts season is officially here and I am sharing some of my favorite denim shorts from each category! I know how tough it is to find the perfect pair of jeans shorts- it literally took me FOREVER to find a few of the right pair, so I’m helping you out by sharing my 4 go-to styles that I break out for almost all occasions.

Size reference: I’m 5’7 and 125 pounds and typically wear a size 25 in jeans. 

High-Waisted// Because of the high-rise silhouette, high-waisted jeans keep everything looking and feeling polished. They fit so snug in the best way and perfectly mold to the curves of your figure. Especially if you find a good quality pair you love, you won’t turn back.

They’re flattering. In my opinion, high-waisted jeans are the most flattering style of jeans shorts you could possibly wear. They make your butt look so good and just make everything look tight (get it right get it tight). Comfortable and flattering?

The Dee style by AGOLDE have been my favorite for a few years. Trust me when I say you will love them! They hit me a little lower on my leg, so when I want more full coverage, these are my go-to.  They sit super high on the waist as well with a 12.25 inch rise.

Fit: Run large, size down. Wearing size 25.

Under $60 // These are a really good pair of jean shorts for the price. They fit true to size and come in a ton of different washes. I stuck with my normal size 26 for these.

Mid Rise // Love these shorts so much I have 2 pairs. They definitely fit more boyfriend style and while they still are considered a high-waisted pair, they sit below the belly button with a 11.5 inch rise.  They also taper out at the bottom making them a tad oversized in the leg. They are super comfortable for hot days and also making them a breeze to throw on with a swimsuit

Fit: Run large, size down. Wearing size 25

Long Shorts // Probably my new favorite pair of the pack because I absolutely LOVE the long short trend.  These are high-waisted with a 11.5 inch rise,  distressing at the bottom that get better and better with each wear.  I love wearing these with a crop top or swim top since they come up so high and have a very casual feel to them!
