My Formula for the Perfect Pumpkin Patch Look

post featured image

I indulged in one of my me and my kids’ favorite fall activities a couple weeks ago and I have to say, it was so much fun. We went to the pumpkin patch! As much as this annual outing is for the kids, it’s also for me because who doesn’t want fall pictures with pumpkins? Haha, I definitely do. And I love putting together my outfit for it every year. This year, I went all out and topped the look off with some amazing Sorel boots from Urban Outfitters. But more on all the details below.

Here’s my formula for creating the perfect pumpkin patch look year after year.

Go for cozy and comfy

When is there a better time to really cozy up your look than for a trip to the pumpkin patch? I went all-in with this oversized camel scarf. There are tons of fun plaid options out there, which really scream fall, but you know me, the more neutral the better. I love this one for its fringe detail. And everything in this outfit is comfortable, which is important for the pumpkin patch. You’ll likely be running around after the kids, picking up a bunch of pumpkins, and getting a little dirty, afterall.

Oversized sweaters

Oversized sweaters are key for mastering your pumpkin patch look. I like a cable knit option like the one I’m wearing here. When it comes to fall/winter sweaters, the chunkier the better in my opinion.

Break out your seasonal boots

The boots are what make your pumpkin patch look complete. I have to say, I love when the fall weather hits and I can break out my seasonal boots. Sorel’s Kinetic Short Lace style from UrbanOutfitters.com nails the look I’m going for. UO always has everything and I feel like it’s the perfect place to shop for so many ages. The boots are cute, warm and comfy. They’ll definitely be great for when winter comes and I’m thinking about grabbing the black version, too.

I know I’ll be wearing this look all season long, especially the amazing Sorel boots from UO. They work perfectly for both running around the city and the country.

What is your number one pumpkin patch wardrobe staple?

  1. I know this is random, but where are your socks from?! I can never find good boot socks! Thank you!

  2. Your outfit is so adorable! I love it! I went to an apple festival a few weeks ago but it was still summer weather out. Where I live, fall doesn’t arrive until the end of October. It’s just starting to cool down. I can’t wait to wear my oversized sweaters though!

    • Thank you! The first time we went to the pumpkin patch it was so hot, but now it has finally cooled down here! Hope you get to wear your sweaters soon 🙂
