My Textured Wavy Hair Tutorial

post featured image

Sharing my first youtube video on how I style my hair to create this textured, voluminous curly look. It has been one my most requested blog posts from y’all, so I am so happy to FINALLY be sharing it with you! I like that this style looks amazing on the first day, but the curls hold so well that between using this curling iron and the product, this style can last me up to three days!

Bare with me, as this is my first video. I am my worst critic and hate the sound of my voice, but hopefully you guys like it!

Tip* for curls to last on day two and three, add more dry shampoo and texturizer and touch up a few curls around your face. The curls get looser, but still look great!

*I use the 1.25 inch barrel curling iron.

  1. Your hairstyle is flawless and very glamorous?can’t wait to recreate those waves✨

  2. Great video! Is your hair naturally straight to start or do you use a flatiron first before curling? My hair is naturally messy/wavy so I can’t get those nice straight ends unless I flatiron, but I find the curl doesn’t hold as well on flat ironed hair. Curious if you have any tips for that? Thanks!

    • Mine is naturally straight. But you can use a straight iron to smooth the ends. My hair dresser does that!

  3. Love the video! I think everyone doesn’t like hearing their own voice. I certainly don’t like mine! Also loving that sweater!

  4. The trick to get that curl besides leaving out the ends is how you twist it when you take the iron out of the curl as well. I love doing my hair like that!! The curls last even when I sleep on them!! Great you tube video!! Dry shampoo and texturizing is a must too with this look. Beach spray is fun too!!

    • Love your video! You did great! I have never tried texturizer. My hair is so thin and I’m sure this will make a great difference. I am looking forward to trying this. Thanks so much for sharing!

  5. The curling iron you suggested comes in 3 sizes. What size do you use?

    Thank you!

  6. Loved not only the video tutorial, but your outfit also! Seriously girl, always looking so chic. Can’t wait to try out some of those products to see if they help with curling 🙂 Hope you have a great start to your week!

  7. What do you do with your hair when you sleep to keep the curls from getting crazy?! That’s always my problem!

  8. Thank you Becky. Seems super easy. Plus …great voice. Greetings from Poland

  9. Great video! I love the Unite texture spray too 🙂 do you brush your hair at all on day 2 and 3? I usually don’t when it’s curled so as not to mess up the curls…
    Xo, Serene

    • Right, I don’t brush them either. Sometimes, I will have a knot nest in the back of my neck that needs combed, and then I will re curl those spots. Thanks for reading! xx

  10. Thanks for the demo and product info. Do you ever have to use anything to smooth the fly a ways that seem to happen on day 2-3?
