I am assuming most of you use makeup brushes. Do you clean them?
Cleaning makeup brushes is crucial for a couple reasons. As we all know, makeup brushes are not cheap, ranging from $5 to $50, they are more like an investment. You want them to last a long time and they will if taken care of and cleaned. Another big reason to clean your brushes is bacteria. Bacteria will build up on your brush and could cause breakouts.
How often should you be cleaning? That all depends on how often you use them. Professional makeup artists have to clean daily. I recommend cleaning them at least every 2 months. It is super easy and takes only 5 minutes.
All you will need is either a brush cleaning solution, that you can buy at the store, or you can make it with two simple ingredients: water and alcohol. Use equal ratios of water to alcohol. So a half a cup of water and half a cup of water. Follow the steps below.
*Make sure to clean them after you applied makeup because they will need to lay out several hours and dry.
Now go clean your makeup brushes! Your complexion and wallet will thank you!
