Updates to Our Kids’ Loft and Kitchen

Super excited to share this post because we get such a great response whenever I share home updates. I’ll try to keep the home decor coming! Our most recent projects have been finishing our upstairs loft and making it more kid-friendly, and updating our kitchen with new accessories. Lots of pictures in this post and I’ll try to cover each piece we added – which were all from At Home!

I love that you can update rooms without having to spend a ton of money, as we were definitely on a budget here. At Home has a HUGE selection of home decor, furnishings, and more, which you can see on their site here. Basically, I loved the experience of shopping here and I’m so happy with how everything came out.

The upstairs loft is basically an extra space in our house, so we knew we wanted to dedicate it to the kids. It’s quiet, and even more importantly, it’s out of the way. Other moms out there know how fast kids can turn a room upside down, and now it’s not in our living room 😉 We really wanted the space to feel calm and chill. We added a couple comfy spots for sitting – like this cozy chair and faux fur pillows. Sutton loves to “read” her books in the chair. We’ve been keeping books and toys in this white chest which is a great catch-all that still looks chic – especially with the playful knick-knacks on top. I also love sipping my coffee up here before the house wakes up, if only for five minutes.

As for our kitchen, we knew we wanted some updated accessories. We wanted to stick to the marble and gold theme we have going throughout and found SO many options at At Home. My personal favorites are the marble cutting and cheese boards that I leave out stacked. I’m also really into the gold canisters, marble cake stand, and the large wooden bowl that we keep fresh fruit in.
