It is that time of year for family photos. Both the beautiful fall landscaping and need for holiday photo cards make it the best time of year to take family pics. While I love getting updated pics of our little family, I find the process kind of stressful. Okay, a lot stressful…from worrying about Sutton’s (& Michael’s) cooperation to finding the perfect outfits…I am always so glad when they are over!
Coordinating our outfits gets kind of tough. My first piece of advice is to lay all the outfits together. I have found this to be so much easier when buying all the outfits at one place to help me see them together in person. Nordstrom is perfect for this plan since they have the best clothes for all of us.
I usually plan our “theme” around Sutton’s outfit as her outfit tends to be the accent or more detailed outfit. I then pick mine out and, since not only do I know what I like (neutrals) and what looks good on me, have a relatively easy time picking this out. Michael’s outfit tends to be a little more difficult. He is somewhat picky in his style and seems to always find the perfect shirt at Nordstrom. I am always surprised at the amount of great menswear they have. We found this great 1/4th zip sweater for pictures. I like that it is dressy enough for family pictures, yet casual and comfy enough that he will want to wear again.
