Busy is my last name…you can all relate, right!? I feel so fortunate to be home with Sutton during the days. But running after her at home does not suffice as my workout and I do still try to make it to the gym a couple times per week. And when I say going to the gym, I really mean packing in gym, my errands and most importantly a coffee date or happy hour with friends or my hubs. There is little extra time and most daysI don’t have time to spend changing clothes. It’s straight from gym to street, so I am always looking for cute and fashionable gym/leisure wear. I have fallen in love with Carbon 38 and their great selection of chic gym to streetwear. I love these adorable leggings…not only are they comfy enough to work out in, they look great with a moto jacket thrown on to dress them up. Plus, having cute gym clothes makes me want to hit the gym! Leisure wear has become all the rage and I encourage you guys to look for pieces that you can dress up and easily wear not only in the gym, but also out on the street. Check out Carbon 38 for some perfect pieces! Sharing my favorite below, plus 5 tips on how to stay active!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Have a great day!

5 Tips for Staying Active
1. Schedule it.
Block out 45 minutes to an hour a day for some form of physical activity. Better yet, make it an appointment on your calendar and chances are you won’t skip. Each week, I aim for 4 days of working out and plan what times each day I will work out. Some days, if Michael is home I can sneak away to the gym or other days when he travels, I use my jogger and jog with Sutton. Michael knows that if he is home Monday evenings, that is my Turbo Kick class that I try to make each week.
2. Create a routine.
If you incorporate working out into your routine it becomes a habit, just like washing your face and brushing your teeth. I know that 4 out of the 7 days a week I will be working out and I appreciate having that consistency. We thrive on routines, just as our kiddos do. Once you add this into your routine, you will miss it on the days you don’t get it in.
3. Make it a priority.
I make working out a priority, why… because it boosts my mood, makes me feel great and even gives me time to meditate and reflect. Every time I am done with a work out I am so happy and feel refreshed. Happy mom, happy family, right? 😉
4. Incorporate body weight exercises.
I always try to add some body weight exercises after I get in my cardio. I have a set of dumbbells and kettle bells at home and love the ‘Tone It Up’ youtube channel. My favorite ones are the Tone it Up Arms, Tone it up Abs, and Tone it up legs. I do these while Sutton is playing. If I’m doing an ab exercise she will come sit on my belly and think it’s the funniest thing.
5. Don’t Beat Yourself Up
Let’s face it, life happens in the form of sick days, tantrums, messes that won’t clean themselves. Some days you won’t have time to workout and that’s fine. Days that I am not working out or if it’s my off days, I try to drink extra water and eat pretty clean.
Remember, exercise doesn’t have to be something you dread. It doesn’t need to demand three hours in the gym or jogging 8 miles. Make it something you enjoy. I love going to classes (especially Turbo Kick) and I love getting outside and running with Sutton. Anytime I start to get sick or dread my workout, I will change it up!
