Finally sharing the details of Sutton’s nursery. I had planned on sharing sooner, but I accidentally deleted all the photos. This nursery took me, literally up until the weekend she came to decorate and get ready. I am so indecisive and finishing all the little small things was the hardest part. I still need to do add photos into frames and add more of them. I plan on adding some from her newborn shoot and the maternity shoot we did.
To start the decorating, I started by looking for bedding. Restoration Hardware and Baby have the prettiest nursery and bedding sets, so I started looking there. Of course I found so many options, but the second I saw the Washed Appliquéd Fleur collection, I knew I had to have it. Next, was then having to choose a bedding color, which was quite hard. I was leaning toward white, but then when we purchased the oatmeal colored crib set, I wanted to do a color, either pink or purple. I have always loved the color purple, ever since I was a little girl, so I went with that. Next, we had the walls painted a bright white with just a hint of purple (the pictures don’t really show that).
The rest kind of all feel together, after lots of shopping trips to and from. I think the hardest part was finding little knick knacks and decor to sprinkle throughout. I still am looking for a couple pieces. One of my favorite items in the nursery is the horse picture above the chair. It was a sweatshirt that my grandma, Marcella Jane, cross-stitched for me as a little girl. My mom had it framed years ago and I knew I wanted to tie the in somehow.
Her nursery is by far the favorite room in our home now! Which is a good thing, since we spend so much time in there!
