It’s been awhile since my last hair tutorial, so I thought it was about time to show you a new do! The Top Knot has been quite the rage this year and continues to be a very popular style. My dear friend Amy, over at Kontempo. is always rocking the cutest top knot. So, I asked her to show us a step by step on how she does the “Top Knot.” She said once you have the steps down it only takes 5 minutes to do!
You will need a comb, ponytail holder, bobby pins and hairspray.
Start by gathering your hair to place into a high pony.
Comb hair until smooth.
Secure with ponytail holder.
Create volume by pulling some hair out of the top. (Tip: make sure the shape matches your face shape.)
Then re-tighten your pony tail.
Backcomb one side of the ponytail.
Smooth the backside that is not backcombed.
Twist hair around the base of the pony, smooth side exposed.
Continue to wrap hair around the pony tightly.
Secure with bobby pins.
Finish with hairspray.
There ya have it! Darling top knot in less than 5 minutes!
Here’s my try at the top knot! Not so shabby. Thanks for the great tutorial, Amy!

I love top knots! They're great for lazy days. The way I make my top knots is similar, but I use dry shampoo for a bit more texture and volume!
