We celebrated Sutton’s first birthday last weekend! Her first birthday party was so fun to plan and I wanted to make it so special. Not only were we celebrating Sutton turning one, but also celebrate getting through a wonderful (and challenging) year together.
The inspiration for Sutton’s party came from Sutton’s (my) love purple and horses. I worked with Emily from Merry Love Joy; a shop that specializes in planning your parties and styling your kiddos. The shop is amazing and Emily is the sweetest! After relaying our love for purple and horses, we found the perfect invite for the party. This became what we based the party decor and supplies around. Purple, pegasus and whimsical all translated into a fun and beautiful first birthday party. We had unicorns, a teepee, glitter and pretty pastel colors-all things that Sutton and I adore.
My original plan was to have her party outdoors, but the unbearable heat and threat of rain forced me to love the party indoors at the last moment. Thanks to my sister, we were able to set up the party inside and transform the house into a magical party for both the kids and adults. Above all the decorations and detail, the most important thing to me was surrounding Sutton with love at her party. We feel so much to have wonderful family and friends come to celebrate with Sutton. Both of our families had to travel to town and we sure appreciate their presence! Sutton loved having her friends and cousins over -she isn’t used to having so many people at our house! It really was everything I had hoped her first birthday party would be.
